Screven Christian Academy’s Lower School curriculum is designed to provide each student with a strong foundation for intellectual, social, and spiritual growth. A safe, nurturing environment encourages an early love of learning and positive character development while engaging students in authentic, Christ-centered learning challenges.
Embedded in the instruction throughout the day is an emphasis on Christian teaching, including daily scripture-based Biblical lessons. Most subjects follow the ABeka Curriculum, with some grades supplementing curricula from BJU Press for Reading and Language and Horizon and Saxon for Math. Teachers carefully plan the instruction to provide a nurturing and loving environment where each child feels successful. Our Lower School students develop pride and self-confidence through participation in classroom projects, seasonal productions, field trips, and our annual Grandparents' Day Program.
